Hidden deep within the mountains, this abandoned WWII air raid shelter has taken on a strange new identity. Accessible only through a narrow opening in the rock, the cavernous space has become a haunting shrine filled with statues that tell obscure stories of Mahayana Buddhism and Taiwanese history. Shrouded in darkness, the atmosphere is both eerie and mesmerizing—like stepping into a forgotten world. Despite its unsettling vibe, exploring this place felt like venturing into a real-life horror movie . Using only a torch for illumination, I brought the statues to life through photography, capturing their mysterious presence in the shadows.
