After spending some time with an entry level (yet still $700) thermal monocular, I was able to put together many use cases for it during an emergency crisis. Honestly, for preparedness purposes, it should be in every prepper's inventory or at least wish list. Although these devices have great capabilities, they are expensive. They are definitely not a priority over many other prepping related items but, I believe they should at least be an acquirement goal.
