In this video, I document the process of building a hidden underground room using a repurposed shipping container, constructed in a remote forest area in the United States.
The project begins with site preparation and reinforcing the container’s basic structure. I installed a wooden base frame, added insulation to help regulate temperature, and built the wall and ceiling framing before closing everything with interior panels. Each step was done carefully, taking into account structural strength and the surrounding environment.
Once the main structure was completed, I moved on to making the interior more functional and comfortable. The walls were finished with light-colored panels to create a clean look, while LED lighting was installed on the ceiling to keep the space well-lit despite being underground. The floor was coated with epoxy for durability and easy maintenance.
On one side of the room, I added a simple entertainment area with wooden accent panels and warm ambient lighting to create a more relaxed atmosphere. Even though the location is remote, the space is designed to be practical without being excessive.
After everything was finished, the container was transformed into a hidden underground room that is comfortable enough for short-term use and relaxation. The entrance is concealed and blends with the natural surroundings, making it difficult to notice from the outside.
Inside the space, there are a few basic features such as:
• a simple seating area
• a small multi-purpose table
• storage shelves
• a compact mini fridge for drinks
• and some hobby-related equipment
This video shows the process step by step, from preparation to the final result, without exaggeration or over-dramatization.
In this video, you will see:
• building a simple underground room in a forest environment
• converting a used shipping container into a functional space
• creating a concealed entrance that blends with nature
• minimal and practical interior setup
• epoxy flooring and LED lighting installation
• the full build process from start to finish
What do you think about the final result?
