In this video I will tell the story behind deciding to move to an old military base and woodland and walk you through the site to show you the existing buildings and the overgrown woodland that we will restore and convert into our future home. We fell in love with the woodland and the old RAF base in the Lincolnshire countryside as soon as we saw it. The conversion is a big challenge and although it looks very lush right now there is so much work to be done just clearing the rubbish and the trees. The buildings that are existing will be converted into our future home and a home for Richards mum. We will also have our studio and workshop in the woods. We are both architects and enjoy building the projects we design. These buildings are currently abandoned and have been popular with urban explorers over the years. They are spooky for sure but not for long more! Challenges with planning permission and conservation has been an interesting part of the adventure and we will talk you through that and hopefully it will be helpful to you too!
