In this episode, Eelco, Ronald, and I travel to Kuwait to explore the remnants of Saddam Hussein's invasion, which led to the Gulf War. The most striking reminders of this history can be found on Failaka Island, located 20 km off the coast of Kuwait City. Before the war, around 2,000 people lived here, but most never returned after the conflict ended.
One of the island's most fascinating sites is an Iraqi army vehicle graveyard, where you can find Chinese Type 69 tanks, Soviet BMP-1s, APCs, artillery, and more.
Thanks to the community of https://www.reddit.com/r/TankPorn for identifying these tanks!
