Nobody knew what I was building. Not my neighbors. Not anyone.
Started with a perfectly normal backyard. Brought in a JCB, excavated a massive pit right in the center, lowered a full military green shipping container into the ground with a crane, cut a circular bunker hatch into the roof, backfilled the soil, laid fresh green grass on top until it looked like nothing was ever there.
Then went inside and built the whole thing out from scratch.
Installed wooden grid frames on every surface, packed pink insulation into every single cavity on the floor walls and ceiling, covered everything with plywood, hung a beautiful ring chandelier from the center ceiling, lined every surface with cream vertical panels, built a compact kitchen on the left, a minimal bed at the back, a desk and bookshelf on the right, added photos and wall flowers.
From the outside it looks like a regular backyard. Underground it's a fully finished modern living space.
