What would you do if you discovered enough space beneath your new house to build a completely hidden underground bunker? In this project, one man turns that idea into reality by excavating beneath the house and creating a massive secret structure from the ground up. The build starts with deep excavation and reinforced foundations before insulated concrete walls are raised around the entire underground space. Waterproofing, drainage, gravel, floor insulation and underfloor heating are added step by step, followed by a strong concrete floor and heavy ceiling structure. Once the bunker is sealed and protected, the area above is rebuilt into a completely new house with framed walls, a modern metal roof, large windows and skylights. By the end of the project, the property looks like a normal modern home from the outside, but hidden underneath is a huge reinforced bunker that almost nobody would ever know exists.
