This looks like a normal backyard… but underneath, there’s a hidden underground container home you’d never expect 🤯 The project starts by clearing and preparing the backyard — mowing the grass, leveling the ground, and marking out the build area. A deep rectangular pit is then excavated, and a red shipping container is lowered into the ground and buried, forming the hidden structure. Next, the entire garden is redesigned. Pathways are created using paver bricks, decorative stones and mulch are added, and colorful plants bring the space to life. A seating area under a tree completes the peaceful backyard — while a hidden circular hatch blends perfectly into the pathway. Opening the hatch reveals the secret space below. Inside, the container is fully transformed — starting with a wooden floor frame, insulation, and OSB, followed by wall and ceiling framing, insulation, and clean panel finishing. The interior is completed with LED lighting, finished flooring, and furniture, including a bed, workspace, and compact kitchen setup. Final touches like plants make the space cozy and fully livable.
